Aleksandra Khatova holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Universität Potsdam and is currently a PhD student in Medical Bioinformatics at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.
Her research focuses on kinetic modeling of oligonucleotide action, with a particular interest in how intracellular RNA dynamics influence the efficacy of oligonucleotide therapeutics. Building on a previously published kinetic model of antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) activity, she has extended the model to account for interactions between ASOs and the cellular RNA environment, as well as periodic upregulation of gene transcription. Her work aims to support mechanistic understanding of the factors that determine ASO efficacy.
